In-School Resource Lessons
Professional curators travel to schools across the state to deliver interesting and educational programs. They travel with museum artifacts or live animals and sometimes appear in costume. These programs can be a departure from classroom curriculum or planned to complement it perfectly.
Curators typically have undergraduate degrees in their area
of expertise, archaeology or biology for example, plus advanced
degrees in education and/or teaching certification. They enjoy
the variety of teaching in the museum environment and are
proponents of participatory learning.
Educational Philosophy
"The Lutz Children's Museum was established to foster
imagination, arouse curiosity, and promote museums as resources
for lifelong learning. Our staff of highly qualified museum
curators strives to deliver only extraordinary programs that
stimulate the learner's senses and promote a love of learning."
